Description
The pacific rainforest is home to a large variety of bears, kermode (spirit bear), black, grizzly and brown bears. The most commonly sighted being the black bears.
This painting was inspired by two locations, one being the Catherdral Grove on Vancouver Island, the other Whistler. After doing guided tour with Michael Allen observing the Whistler/Blackcomb bear population.

Magnificent painting Derrick! I love the composition and the power in his step. I can practically hear him crushing those beautiful flowers! Although that observation might just be the cringing I experience when our black bears decide to cut paths through my wildflower meadow! Beautiful body of work! I am a huge fan of your paintings and your kind spirit.
